CrushinCrappie Outdoors is a Web Media platform launched by Marlon Jones(AKA CrushinCrappie) in November of 2011 to explore the world of Crappie fishing.

About Marlon Jones

I owe my passion for fishing to my father.  I grew up in Louisiana and as a boy, my father would take me fishing in Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans.  All it took was a few Croakers and Speckled Trout, and time with my Dad and my passion for fishing was born – and folks – I’m not the most well travelled person in the world, but I dare say – there are not many places to develop a passion for fishing better than Louisiana!.

Expansion of my passion

Over the years and in my travels, I’ve always shared my fishing experiences and adventures with others.  After relocating to Ohio in 2007 – II began fishing Caesar Creek Lake in southwest Ohio for Crappies as I was told by locals that the Lake was good for Crappies but could be tough to fish.  Challenge accepted!! After receiving many inquiries as to  how I go about targeting Crappies on Caesar Creek Lake, I launched a Youtube channel called “Crushin Crappie” in the fall of 2007.  The channel hosts instructional videos focused on helping fishermen become better crappie anglers by sharing tips, techniques, and strategies for catching Crappie all year round.

In 2023 I decided to expand my efforts to share my passion for fishing by creating this site – CrushingCrappieOutdoors.com.  My purpose for creating this blog space is to create how-to articles that align with my video content as well as provide collaboration opportunities through social networks and other commercial platforms.
